                        1. Assessing Prior Level, Rehospitalization Risk(s), and Caregiver Availability
Assessment of functional ability includes contextual details that should be considered when determining the course of care. In this chapter, the focus areas relate to the patient’s prior level of function and equipment use, the patient's current risks for rehospitalization, and the availability of a caregiver to provide assistance.
 
                        2. Assessment of Mobility: Sections G and GG
The assessment of functional ability can be separated into two groups: mobility and activities of daily living. In this chapter, the focus area will be mobility, which includes bed mobility, transferring, and ambulation.
